Today in the World: A Devotion
A daily Christian reflection centered on Scripture, prayer, and faithful living.
Scripture (Psalm 46:10, KJV): “Be still, and know that I am God…”
Reflection: The world can be loud—news, stress, opinions, and pressure all competing for your attention. God’s invitation is not to run faster, but to be still. Stillness is not doing nothing; it is choosing trust. Today, pause long enough to remember who God is: sovereign, good, and present. When you “know that I am God,” fear loosens its grip, and faith regains its footing.
Prayer: Lord God, quiet my heart and steady my mind. Forgive me for the ways I try to control what only You can hold. Teach me to be still before You and to trust Your power and Your love. In Jesus’ name, amen.
One Step of Obedience: Take five minutes today with your phone on silent. Read Psalm 46, then write one sentence answering: “God, what are You asking me to release to You today?”
