Sunday Devotion July 26, 2026
Holding Gratitude and Uncertainty Together
Today, I stand with a degree in my hand, as many before and after me will do, carrying both joy and unease. I celebrate all God has brought me through, even as I face the frustration of an unresolved account balance and a TPD filing. I bring both the victory and the worry honestly before God.
Scripture Reading
“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7, KJV).
“The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit” (Psalms 34:18, KJV).
Reflection
I finished a season of hard work and study, and that accomplishment is a gift from God. At the same time, practical burdens—bills, paperwork, waiting on a TPD decision from Ohio Christian University—can cloud my joy. The Scriptures do not promise a life without trouble, but they promise God’s presence in trouble. I can hold my gratitude and my anxiety together and offer both to the Lord.
Application
- Pray specifically. I will name the balance, the TPD filing, and the people involved when I pray, asking God for clarity and peace.
- Take one practical step. I will write down the next action: who to call, what documents to resend, and the dates I contacted offices. A clear list calms my mind and frees space for prayer.
- Invite support. I will tell one trusted friend or mentor about this situation and ask them to pray and, if needed, help me follow up.
- Remember my identity. My worth is not measured by an account balance; God’s view of me is not altered by paperwork.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for the gift of completion and for walking with me through every step. Give me peace that steadies my heart, wisdom for the next steps, and clarity in every conversation and form. Bring resolution where it is needed and remind me that Your presence is nearer than my worries. Amen.
