It Is a Mystery
Over the years, I have experienced several unusual events that I still cannot fully explain. Some people may dismiss them as forgetfulness or coincidence, while others might see them differently. Whatever the explanation, they remain mysteries to me.
One recent afternoon, I left home and went for a walk. When I returned, I reached for my King James Bible that normally sits beside my bed. It was gone. I searched carefully through the bedroom and could not find it anywhere. Later, I walked into the living room and discovered it resting beside my guitar. I had no memory of moving it there, and no explanation for how it got there.
The day before, something similar happened with my phone. It seemed to vanish without a trace. After searching everywhere I could think of, I eventually found it again. It had mysteriously reappeared, almost as if it had never been missing at all.
These were not isolated incidents. On other occasions, lottery tickets have unexpectedly appeared among my belongings. I could not remember purchasing them or placing them where they were found. Likewise, cigarettes have shown up at times without any clear explanation. Finding objects unexpectedly can leave a person wondering how they arrived there and why.
Experiences like these tend to linger in the mind. They challenge our assumptions and remind us that not every question has an immediate answer. We often want neat explanations for everything that happens, but life does not always cooperate with our desire for certainty.
As a Christian, I have learned that mystery is woven throughout life and faith. There are things we understand, and there are things that remain beyond our comprehension. Scripture reminds us:
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”
Proverbs 3:5 (KJV)
I do not claim to know why my Bible appeared beside my guitar, why my phone disappeared and reappeared, or why lottery tickets and cigarettes have unexpectedly shown up from time to time. I simply know that these experiences happened, and they have left me with questions.
Perhaps some mysteries are never meant to be fully solved. Perhaps they serve as reminders that our understanding is limited and that there is still wonder in the world. Rather than becoming consumed with finding an answer, I have chosen to reflect on these experiences with humility and faith, trusting that God knows far more than I ever will.
Reflection: Sometimes the greatest lesson is not in solving the mystery but in learning to live faithfully with unanswered questions.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, when I encounter things I cannot understand, help me to trust You. Give me wisdom, peace, and discernment. Remind me that Your knowledge is perfect even when mine is limited. Strengthen my faith as I walk through the mysteries of life, knowing that You are always with me. In Jesus’ name, Amen. ✝️
