Monday Morning Devotional — September 21, 2026

For Those in Need and Suffering

There is something sacred about a Monday morning. It’s the threshold between what has been and what will be — a doorway God invites us to step through, even when our hearts feel heavy and our strength feels thin. For those suffering today, whether in body, mind, or spirit, hear this truth: God has not overlooked you. He has not forgotten you. He has not withdrawn His hand from your life.

“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” — Psalm 34:18 (NIV).

As this new week begins, you may feel like you’re starting from behind. You may feel worn before the race even begins. But God specializes in meeting His children in the low places. He does not wait for you to be strong before He draws near. He comes because you are weak, because you are hurting, because you are in need.

This morning, breathe deeply and remember:

  • Your suffering is not a sign of God’s absence. It is often the very place where His presence becomes most real.
  • Your tears are not wasted. Scripture tells us He keeps them — not one falls unnoticed.
  • Your weakness is not failure. It is the soil where His strength grows.

“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness” — 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV).

As you step into this Monday, do not rush. Do not pretend you are fine. Instead, lift your need before the Lord. Whisper your pain. Offer Him the pieces. He is the God who gathers fragments and makes them whole.

A Prayer for This Morning

Father, for every hurting heart beginning this week, let Your nearness be felt. For every weary soul, let Your strength rise within them. For every burden too heavy to carry, lift it with Your gentle hands. Let this Monday be marked not by what we lack, but by Your faithful presence. Heal, comfort, restore, and steady us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
