Scripture: “In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, LORD, make me dwell in safety.” (Psalm 4:8)
As the day closes, your mind may replay conversations, unfinished tasks, and worries about tomorrow. God does not ask you to carry the weight of your life through the night. Sleep is a daily reminder that you are not in control—and that you are still cared for.
Tonight, practice a quiet surrender: name what is heavy, then place it in God’s hands. You can rest because He stays awake. You can release because His faithfulness doesn’t depend on your effort. Let His peace be the last word over your day.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for carrying me through this day. I give You my anxieties, my unfinished work, and the things I cannot fix. Guard my mind, calm my body, and teach me to trust You more deeply. As I sleep, let Your peace surround my home and my heart. Amen.
Reflect / Journal:
- What is one burden I am tempted to carry into tomorrow instead of giving to God tonight?
- Where did I notice God’s help or kindness today, even in something small?
- What would it look like for me to “dwell in safety” under God’s care as I sleep?
