Unshaken in the Shaking

A midweek devotion rooted in today’s world begins with this steady truth: God remains unshaken even when nations tremble. As conflicts intensify across the Middle East—with U.S. and Israeli strikes against Iran and counter‑strikes disrupting daily life and raising fears of wider instability —believers everywhere feel the weight of uncertainty. Yet Scripture consistently invites us to lift our eyes above the turmoil.

🌍 A World in Upheaval

  • Escalating conflict: Strikes and counter‑strikes continue across Iran, Israel, and surrounding regions, causing civilian casualties and widespread disruption.
  • Global ripple effects: Airspace closures, rising oil prices, and diplomatic tensions remind us how interconnected the world is.
  • Human cost: Families are displaced, aid routes are strained, and uncertainty grows day by day.

These events echo Jesus’ words: “You will hear of wars and rumors of wars… but see to it that you are not alarmed.” (Matthew 24:6)

✨ Midweek Devotional Reflection

In the middle of the week—and the middle of global unrest—God calls His people to a different posture: steadfast trust.

Psalm 46:1–3
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever‑present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way…”

This psalm doesn’t deny the shaking; it declares God’s presence in the shaking. When nations rage, God speaks peace. When the world feels unstable, His kingdom remains unmovable.

🙏 Prayer

Lord, in a world trembling with conflict, be our refuge.
Cover the innocent, guide leaders toward peace, and steady our hearts.
Teach us to trust You—not because circumstances are calm,
but because You are God, and You are near. Amen.

🕊️ Midweek Application

  • Pause for peace: Take 3 minutes today to breathe deeply and whisper, “God is my refuge.”
  • Pray globally: Lift up families affected by conflict, especially those displaced or living in fear.
  • Live gently: Let your words and actions today reflect the peace you seek from God.

Grace and Peace,
