Scripture:

“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” — Deuteronomy 31:8 (NIV)

Reflection:

As the year draws toward its close, this verse reminds us of God’s faithful presence. Life often feels uncertain—whether in career, education, or personal calling—but God’s promise is steady: He goes before us. We don’t walk into tomorrow alone; He has already prepared the way.

Discouragement can creep in when doors seem slow to open or when the path feels hidden. Yet Scripture calls us to courage, not because we are strong in ourselves, but because the Lord is with us. His companionship transforms fear into faith and discouragement into hope.

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for walking ahead of me and beside me. Help me to trust Your timing and lean on Your presence when I feel uncertain. Strengthen my heart to face each day with courage, knowing You will never forsake me. Amen.

✨ Personal Connection:

For me, this verse speaks directly into my current season of seeking stable, in-person work (remote considered) and discerning the next steps in education. At times, the waiting feels heavy, and I wonder how God will weave together my skills in leadership, teaching, and ministry for lasting impact. Yet this passage reminds me that I am not navigating these decisions alone.

God has already gone before me in Sheboygan Falls and beyond, preparing opportunities that align with His purpose. My role is to remain faithful, resilient, and anchored in hope, trusting that His presence will guide me into the right place at the right time. Even on discouraging days, I can rest in the assurance that He will never leave me nor forsake me.

Grace and Peace,
