Scripture Reading

Isaiah 9:2
“The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.”

Reflection

As we move deeper into December, the days grow shorter and the nights longer. Yet in this season of Advent, we are reminded that God’s light shines brightest in the darkest places. Isaiah’s prophecy points us to Christ, the Light of the World, who breaks through despair with hope, through confusion with clarity, and through sorrow with joy.

On this 13th day of December, let us pause to notice the small ways God’s light is dawning in our lives—perhaps in a word of encouragement, a moment of peace, or the quiet assurance that we are not alone. Darkness may linger, but it cannot overcome the light that Christ brings.

Personal Reflection — Lesallan’s Journey

In this season, I find myself both hopeful and contemplative. As a Christian leader, writer, and educator, I am reminded that my calling is to help others see the light of Christ in their own lives. Whether through teaching, devotional writing, or building resources for discipleship, I want my work to reflect the truth that God’s light is never hidden—it shines through resilience, creativity, and faith.

Even as I seek new housing and remote work opportunities, I see this as part of God’s refining process. Just as Isaiah spoke of light dawning in darkness, I trust that each step forward—whether in ministry, writing, or daily routines—is illuminated by His presence. My prayer is that my journey encourages others to walk faithfully, even when the path feels uncertain.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, Light of the World,
Shine into the corners of my life today.
Dispel the shadows of fear and doubt,
And fill me with the warmth of Your presence.
Help me to reflect Your light to others,
So that they too may see hope in You.
Amen.

Daily Practice

  • 🌟 Begin the day by lighting a candle or turning on a light as a symbol of Christ’s presence.
  • 📖 Write down one way you’ve seen God’s light in your life this week.
  • 🤝 Share encouragement with someone who may be walking through a dark season.

Grace and Peace,
